Black Box, an industry-leading provider of IT connectivity solutions, today announced that its award-winning Emerald Unified KVM platform now supports Lawo s Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) IP broadcast control and monitoring system. The many high-profile broadcast and cable companies in the U.S. that already use Lawo s VSM control environment to manage their editing suites, master control suites and mobile production studios can now also use Lawo VSM to configure and control their Emerald KVM workflows.

The Emerald KVM platform allows for seamless connections to physical computers and virtual machines, eliminating the need to dedicate specific workstations to specific operational needs. Able to connect any workstation to any server or virtual machine on the KVM network, users can move noisy and heat-generating CPU units to a more centralized and secure location while maintaining exceptional performance from the workstation s keyboard and mouse.
Black Box s Emerald KVM family offers industry-leading compression to minimize network bandwidth, supporting operations over WANs as well as LANs. The company s RemoteApp software is available for remote connection to Emerald KVM devices from a standard laptop or tablet. Emerald supports both HD and 4K resolutions and boasts a high-reliability architecture to provide scalable, high-uptime deployments. Emerald s extensive REST API ensures easy integration with third-party applications or touch-panel controller that can be adapted as needs change.
Lawo s VSM IP broadcast control and monitoring system provides the overarching layer that manages all third-party control demands under one interface, including graphical control items that can be easily mapped to touch-screen or touch-pad devices.
