GoPro Skateboarders Dominate in Barcelona

San Mateo, CA (May 20, 2013) GoPro, maker of the world's most versatile camera and producer of today's most engaging content sends out a huge congratulations to its athletes who stood atop the podium in Barcelona during the summer X Games this past weekend.

After already writing history in Foz do Igua u, Skateboard super talent Mitchie Brusco wrote a new chapter in Barcelona. While the gold medal ended up in Bob Burnquist's hands, 16-year-old Mitchie is now officially the first to ever land a 1080 at the X Games MegaRamp and third ever to land the trick in competition.

MItchie's mentor Bucky Lasek was the oldest skateboarder competing in Barcelona but proved that he is far from retiring by winning Skateboard Vert gold on the first day of X Games Barcelona. Just one month after taking home first place in Brazil at X Games Foz do Igua u, he can add yet another gold medal to his collection of eight; that ties him with fellow GoPro athlete Pierre-Luc Gagnon for the most Skateboard Vert medals in the 20-year X Games history.

Pedro Barros added another skateboard gold medal to the pile when he made history by being the first rider to claim three gold medals in Skateboard Park. The crowd went crazy as he threw an overhead melon 540 above the course's most critical vert section.

Ronnie Renner backed up his Step Up silver in Brazil with a gold in Barcelona, his fourth in Step Up competition during his career thus far.

Because of bad weather conditions, FMX and Rally had to be cancelled, but Rally legend Ken Block drew crowds of fans during his signing session at the GoPro experience.
