EPL Fixtures and Results on 16 March West Ham 4-3 Huddersfield

A Javier Hernandez late show for West Ham scuppered luckless Huddersfield at the London Stadium.

Michail Antonio clipped the crossbar with an early header before the Hammers had a penalty when youngster Aaron Rowe fouled Manuel Lanzini.

The spot kick was slotted straight down the middle by Mark Noble in the 15th minute.

But Juninho Bacuna headed in a rare goal on the road for the Yorkshire side within two minutes, as the Hammers switched off.

They went ahead after half an hour when Karlan Grant scuffed in.

And the away side were in thoroughly uncharted waters when Grant belted home the third.

Angelo Ogbonna headed one back for the hosts with 15 minutes left to play.

Hernandez then stooped to nod in Samir Nasri's teasing cross in the 84th minute.

And the Mexican added the killer blow with a flicked header in the second minute of injury time.

Burnley 1-2 Leicester

Ten-man Leicester held firm to beat relegation-threatened Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League.

The Foxes endured a nightmare start when last man Harry Maguire was sent off for bringing down Johann Berg Gudmundsson in just the fourth minute.

Iceland international Gudmundsson curled his free kick against the post.

James Maddison did better with his own effort on 33 minutes, forcing his set piece past Tom Heaton to put the visitors ahead.

But the Clarets pulled level when Dwight McNeil slotted in a close-range effort before the break.

While three points remained within reach throughout the second period, Burnley hearts were broken when Wes Morgan appeared to head home the winner in the 89th minute.

Bournemouth 2-2 Newcastle

Bournemouth and Newcastle shared the spoils after a ding-dong battle at the Vitality Stadium.

Ryan Fraser tickled the far post with his tenth-minute shot having been set free by Joshua King.

And Salomon Rondon put the Toon Army in front deep in first half stoppage time.

It wasn't to last, as King slotted in a penalty the other side of the interval after a foul on Nathan Ake.

He added his second in the 81st minute to seemingly seal victory for the Cherries.

But Matt Ritchie popped up against his former club to net a 94th-minute equalizer.

Liverpool will return to the top of the Premier League table on Sunday if they come away from Fulham with a win.

With leaders Manchester City in FA Cup action this weekend, the Reds would go two points clear again in their to-and-fro tussle at the top.

A 4-2 thrashing of Burnley at Anfield far more comprehensive than the scoreline suggests kept them hot on the heels of the reigning champions.

Pep Guardiola's side are now the sole focus for Jurgen Klopp and Co, with third-placed Tottenham having nose-dived in recent weeks.

Fulham have forgotten what Premier League points look like after losing six on the bounce.

Interim boss Scott Parker has instigated a bit more spirit in his two games at the helm against Chelsea and Leicester, albeit with nothing to show for his side's efforts.

The Londoners are languishing in 19th place, a whopping 13 points from safety with just eight matches to go.

Everton vs Chelsea 18:30

Chelsea can crank up the heat in the Premier League's top four race when they go to Everton on Sunday.

Maurizio Sarri's revived side looked to have turned a corner with back-to-back wins against London rivals Tottenham and Fulham.

But they nearly came unstuck in a big way against Wolves at Stamford Bridge last Sunday, needing an injury time goal from Eden Hazard to salvage a point.

With Manchester United in FA Cup action and Arsenal putting their feet up, however, the Blues will go level on points with the fourth-placed Gunners if they can snaffle all three points on Merseyside.

Everton could be forgiven for wishing this season was done and dusted already.

A thoroughly inconsistent campaign has left them mired in mid-table.

And the Toffees will really have felt like clocking off until August last weekend after passing up a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Newcastle.
