Quality control, checking of and delivery of transmission logs and content on designated channels for broadcast on time and in the correct format. Immediate communication with transmission area after log download regarding changes that have been implemented and any outstanding information needed. Insight into new technologies, formats (HD, Dolby) and the workflow of a tapeless environment.

Scrutiny of materials for designated channels or services regarding correct content, running orders and applicable formats after ingest.

Advise On-Air Traffic regarding problems with content to assist the decision making on timely re-order of materials.

Ensure Graphics for music fillers and other on-air graphics are in the correct format and available on time for Playout.

Organise, monitor and prep live events as well as Prime time content

Compile and submit comprehensive pre transmission reports and analyse root-cause of on-air errors.

Effective Adaptation of output to accommodate the constantly changing broadcast environment.

On rotation basis form part of a standby team for after hour and week-end emergencies.

Provide after hours support to MCR for Logs and content.

Will be required to learn the Paradigm system to be able to assist Log output on emergencies.

Education & Experience

A Tertiary qualification in Media or similar

Television background with at least 2 years TV broadcasting experience

Good understanding of quality control processes

Good knowledge of broadcasting standards and technical requirements

Knowledge of Transmission operating systems and channel scheduling

Must have passion for TV broadcasting

Synergy and Paradigm a definite advantage.
