Pickathon, the groundbreaking music festival known for its creativity and commitment to sustainability, has renewed its partnership with DigitalGlue for a third time, extending its use of creative.space DigitalGlue's on-premises managed storage platform for another five years. While the four-day festival is the centerpiece, Pickathon's production efforts continue year-round, generating a steady stream of content for its YouTube channel, which boasts over 1,300 videos and 90,000 subscribers. The latest renewal, included an upgrade to a //AUTEUR PCIe 4.0 system with 240TB of storage doubling the capacity of their previous system. Pickathon originally deployed creative.space in August 2019 with a 144TB //AUTEUR PCIe 3.0 system and continues to rely on the platform to support both live event production and ongoing post-festival content creation.
Set to take place from July 31 to August 3, 2025, this year's Pickathon music festival will feature 57 bands representing an eclectic mix of genres across multiple stages. But what sets Pickathon apart, however, isn't just the music it s its profound commitment to the community and the environment. Each year, the festival transforms Pendarvis Farm, just outside Portland, Oregon, into a living sustainability experiment, where stages are later repurposed as classrooms, shelters, and greenhouses.
To fully capture the culture and spirit of Pickathon, the festival records hundreds of hours of high-resolution footage including artist performances, interviews, mini-documentaries, and art installations to be repurposed on its website and YouTube channel. This massive amount of content requires a powerful, scalable storage solution capable of performing flawlessly under the pressure of a fast-paced live event while empowering numerous editors to work on the footage simultaneously.
