Veteran actress Vinette Ebrahim who is known for her role of Charmaine Meintjies in 7de Laan has joined the cast of The Estate as Fareeha.

Her character is Lorcia Cooper's on-screen mother. Cooper plays the role of Jo in the telenovela.

VINETTE EBRAHAIM: LATEST ROLE Well-known actress Vinette Ebrahim has joined the cast of The Estate as Fareeha.

Ebrahim will make her debut on 11 March as Jo's mother - played by choreographer and award-winning actress - Lorcia Cooper.

She is the second actor from 7de Laan to join the telenovela after Jacques Blignaut who played Vince Meintjies in the SABC2 soapie.

Blignaut plays the role of role Dr Martin van Wyk on The Estate and is in a relationship with Cooper's character.

Ebrahim who played Charmaine Meintjies for 19 years also made her debut on M-Net's canned telenovela Legacy last year (20 October) as Marie Fourie.

FROM SABC1 TO S3 TVSA recently reported that The Estate is being yanked from its 19:30 timeslot on SABC 1 and will remain on SABC3 - now known as S3.

The show will be replaced by a new telenovela - The Executives which will air Mondays to Wednesdays from 7 March on SABC 1.

The site also revealed that the show pulled in 1.7 million viewers and that Mzansi's favourite sitcom Ses'Top La will air at 19:30 on Thursdays and Fridays on SABC1.
