Missy Keating is the fourth celebrity dancer to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

20/02/2022

Missy Keating was the fourth celebrity dancer to be eliminated from series five of RT 's Dancing with the Stars. Tonight saw the return of the dreaded dance-off for the first time this series. Missy and Erica had to dance a second time as they were the two celebrities with the lowest combined score between the judges scores and the public vote. This week the judges decided to send Missy, along with Ervinas Merfeldas home.

Following the result, Missy said: Well at least I'm going out to party now. I'm going out! Speaking to Ervinas she said: Thank you, you're the best. It's been an amazing journey. I've loved every second.

Ervinas: She's been incredible every week. She gave it her very best. It's all I can ask for.

Earlier in the evening, Missy had been the first dancer out on the floor after she celebrated her 21st birthday this week. She and Ervinas Merfeldas opened the show with a cheeky Charleston to Out Out' by Joel Corry & Jax Jones feat. Charli XCX & Saweetie.

Following their dance, Head Judge Loraine said: A huge welcome back! What was funky fun charleston, I loved all the different moves. Gorgeous kicks and flicks. The lifts were the very good. I think you smashed it.

Arthur: You are out tonight! A huge Happy 21st Birthday. That was full of energy and personality. You brought charleston to a new era.

Brian: It wasn't that I'd call a traditional charleston. Swivels were good, lots of power and snap. That performance probably unlocked the door for you for next week.

Missy and Ervinas scored 24 from the judges.

Nicolas Roche and Karen Byrne danced a waltz this week. Love Ain't Here Anymore' by Take That was their soundtrack this week.

Arthur: You have such a wonderful partnership. I'm so looking forward to seeing more.

Brian: I'm sort of in and out of love with this. In balance I loved it. Out of balance I hated it. That's a shame, as it flows.

Loraine: I think you were hard Brian. That music allows for softness. You worked extremely hard. You had a lovely frame and a beautiful smile.

Nicolas and Karen scored 17 from the judges.

Singer Erica Cody danced an upbeat salsa along with her pro partner Denys Samson. They danced to Don't Go Yet' sang by Camila Cabello.

Brian: Authentic salsa arms. Hip actions of a professional standard. The landing of the last lift was a bit but Erica good last week, back to being great this week.

Loraine: That's what you love , that space and freedom. Hips were free, circular motion too. Maybe a bit more shoulders. You lit up the room.

Arthur: Hello salsa! I knew you were going to come back and show how it's done. Your body language was exquisite. If I was hiring dancers for a big tour, I'd hire you in a heartbeat.

Erica and Denys scored 27 from the judges.

It was an American Smooth for Billy McGuinness and Hannah Kelly tonight. Dean Martin's Aint that A Kick In the Head' brought them around the dancefloor.

Loraine: It's very difficult to keep a straight face! Your posture and poise in the frame was very good. Bend that body around, get more dancing in. But your singing was great.

Arthur: I'm your biggest fan. American Smooth is a precise dance. Week 7, you've been doing good. No matter what you do, keep enjoying it. That's what makes it.

Brian: A bit hoppy toward the end. Frame is better across the shoulders but your left arm needs more. In hold, quite smooth. Bit pointy out of hold. Musicality was there. Maybe improve technically a bit more.

Billy and Hannah scored 18 from the judges.

The fifth couple to dance tonight were Ellen Keane and Stephen Vincent. Their foxtrot was to Love Story (Taylor's Version)' by Taylor Swift.

Arthur: Ellen, you are like a goddess. The way you were moving your feet, you were like dancing on air, floating.

Brian: Flexibility of the body. It takes real skill and confidence to fill space. There were one or two moments when you were out of sync with each other. But overall a very good attempt.

Loraine: Graceful, elegant and beautiful. So perfect for foxtrot. The softness. 2 and 3 heel turns. It's an extremely difficult dance. Balance between you, a little bit bumpy, but a great execution.

Ellen and Stephen scored 23 from the judges.

Matthew MacNabb and Laura Nolan took to floor tonight safe in the knowledge that they would not be in the dance-off this evening. They earned immunity from it tonight due to their overall highest combined score last Sunday night. Their cha-cha-cha was danced to Dynamite' by BTS.

Brian: You're safe from immunity tonight, but you were a bit immune to dancing too. A damp squid in places, you stood still a lot. You need to get more of what you had last week. You were on time in one section in the middle though.

Loraine: I have to agree with Brian. I just feel you get blocked by technical requirements. You were moving. You are a trier. Don't get bogged down, forget the rulebook. Move the booty.

Arthur: Cha cha was challenging. A little bit awkward to watch. Let's be positive. You're not going anywhere tonight. For next week re-group, and bring the magic from last week.

Matthew and Laura scored 12 from the judges.

It was a tango for Gr inne Seoige and John Nolan this week. They danced to Gotan Project's Santa Maria'.

Loraine: You got it tonight Graine. Very good tango, lot of staccato. Powerful oversway. You also enriched the performance by putting in the Argentinian Tango . Intensity in face, but give more angles in the body. That's the next part.

Arthur: What a night Grainne. She's back. That sultry tango face. Thank you so much.

Brian: Technically, very good. Tiny moments here and there. Excellent across arms, Beautiful head position. Aloof. Slightly bigger steps
