GoPro's Women Athletes Standout with Multiple Podium Stakes
SAN MATEO, CA (March 25, 2013) GoPro, maker of the world's most versatile cameras and producer of today's most engaging content, sends out a huge congratulations to its athletes who participated in X Games Tignes last week. The GoPro women athletes dominated this year, securing three podium spots with medals in three different disciplines. Kaya Turski took home the gold in Ski Slopestyle, Jamie Anderson secured silver in Snowboard Slopestyle, and Elena Hight won silver in Snowboard SuperPipe.
GoPro athletes were a huge part of the X Games action throughout the week, competing in Ski and Snowboard SuperPipe and Slopestyle events. Canadian skier Kaya Turski won her fourth consecutive X Games Tignes gold medal on Thursday, landing technical rail features and three big jumps on the Jeep Slopestyle course. She had the highest two scores of the day and won the competition with a 93.33 on her second run. Her top-scoring run included a switch right 450 on the top rail, a backside switch up, a left 540 safety, a switch right 540 Japan, and a left rodeo 540.
South Lake Tahoe snowboarder, Jamie Anderson competed in her tenth X Games winning a silver medal in last Friday's Jeep Snowboard Slopestyle event. Hawaii native and South Lake Tahoe snowboarder, Elena Hight, also claimed silver in Women's Snowboard SuperPipe.
In addition to GoPro's female dominance, GoPro Swiss rider Iouri Podladtchikov landed the highly anticipated Cab double cork 14403 rotations with two flips!
