Marine busine culture promotes industrial integration in Jiangdong District

It is learned from Jiangdong District that a special smart wheelchair for climbing, developed by the Pan Yunhe (an academician) Workstation located at the Hefeng Creative Square, has won the China Design Intelligence Award. With the Marine Business Cultural Week in the last three consecutive years, a batch of new and creative cultural innovation projects have been introduced to the citizens. In 2015, five of the first "top 10" cultural creative projects were from Jiangdong District.

In 2013, with the focus on the national "one belt, one road" initiative and Ningbos port economic circle construction, Ningbo started to develop the "marine business culture", and has since built the cultural brand featuring the theoretic system for marine business culture, international communication on marine business culture, integration of marine business culture and industry, and public welfare by marine business culture. Over three years development, the cultural brand has attracted 180,000 people for activities, including prominent experts, people from all walks of life and ordinary citizens, showing an obvious increase of influence. The International Forum on Marine Business, with the theme of "marine Silk Road and marine business", has also attracted a lot of well-known experts in the field of marine economy and marine culture research. Meanwhile, a large group of literature works on the marine business culture and spirits have been published.

With the new idea of marine business culture, Jiangdong District has accelerated the integration of the marine business culture and the cultural creative industry. Based on the marine Silk Road innovation and design association, the 2016 "marine Silk Road" creative and design competition will be held. After collecting the cultural creative ideas themed on marine business culture landscape, marine trade, marine businessmen and marine business cultural exchange activities, the competition will then select some cultural elements and convert them into creative products, in the hope of promoting the development of the cultural creative industry. The marine Silk Road index, proposed by the Marine Silk Road Index Research Center, which was established in 2015, was included in the national 13th Five-year Plan in March, 2016, and the index will be developed as one with international influence on the global shipping field.

In the future, Jiangdong District will continue to strengthen the spread and promotion of the marine business culture, and improve the citizens participation and recognition through such activities as marine business culture entering schools, enterprises, communities, and business squares.
