ESPNU, SEC Network Launch in Mexico on Totalplay

ESPN has launched ESPNU and SEC Network in Mexico. The networks will be made available to fans and followers of college sports on Totalplay, the entertainment and total connectivity company offering internet, interactive television and telephone services, with a presence in more than 20 cities throughout the country. Totalplay is ESPNU and SEC Network's first distribution partner in Mexico. Launched in 2005, ESPNU is ESPN's 24-hour college sports television network, and SEC Network is devoted to covering collegiate sports in the Southeastern Conference, a college athletic conference whose member institution are located primarily in the Southern part of the U.S.

ESPNU and SEC Network offer the best of college sports and we are excited to make both networks available to Totalplay customers in Mexico, says Gerardo Casanova, vice president and managing director, Latin America North and ESPN Mexico. Together, ESPNU and SEC Network will immediately offer college sports fans in Mexico more than 1,000 exclusive live events, including regular-season football games, men's and women's basketball games, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, track & field, as well as unparalleled access to news and information shows and original programming.

ESPNU airs more than 650 live events annually, including conference championships and the crowning of national championships, in addition to carrying over 600 original studio shows. It launched in the U.S. twelve years ago on March 4, 2005.

ESPN and the Southeastern Conference created SEC ESPN Network in the fall of 2014. The network televises over 45 SEC football games, 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, and other events from across the SEC's 21 sports annually. Programming includes in-depth analysis and storytelling in studio shows, daily news and information with SEC Now, original content such as SEC Storied and SEC Inside, and more. The network is available in more than 50 countries throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa via ESPN Play, ESPN's sports streaming service in the region.
