John Orlando has been named Executive Vice President, Government Affairs for CBS Corporation, it was announced today by Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer for CBS Corporation, to whom he will report. In this new role, Orlando will have oversight over the Corporation's activities in Washington as well as with state and local governments. Orlando's promotion follows the retirement of Martin D. Franks who, among many responsibilities, headed up the Corporation's Washington, D.C. office.

Orlando rejoined CBS in early 2006 as Senior Vice President, Washington, and has been responsible for the oversight, formulation and implementation of the Company's public policy and government relations objectives. He has also served as CBS's lead lobbyist, being the Company's principal contact with the Congress and the Administration.

John is one of the most respected and skilled lobbyist working in the media industry so I am thrilled to have him at the helm of our D.C. operation, said Moonves. He has been an integral part of our Washington office for years, and his guidance and counsel have been critical in navigating our efforts with the Administration, government agencies, Congress and beyond. At a time when the media landscape is in constant change, having someone as knowledgeable as John is about our company and the industry is invaluable.

Prior to rejoining CBS in 2006, Orlando spent five years at the National Association of Broadcasters as the head of their Government Relations department. Before that, he served as Vice President, Washington, for CBS, and Vice President and Principal at Timmons and Company, a Washington lobbying firm. Before joining the private sector, Orlando worked on Capitol Hill for 14 years.
