WRAL-TV Launches 2019 Coats for the Children Campaign

WRAL-TV has launched its 31st Annual Coats for the Children Campaign with the arrival of the holidays. The station invites viewers to donate gently used, clean coats, hats and gloves to outfit children for winter, as well as new toys to make the holidays brighter for children at the Salvation Army.

A coat. It seems so basic to many of us. But thousands of children in our viewing area need a warm, winter coat for the cold months ahead.

Coats for the Children is WRALs major community campaign to support families in need.

WRAL-TVs 2019 Coats for the Children Campaign

Last year, WRALs 30th Annual Coats for the Children Telethon collected more than 4,100 coats, hundreds of toys, and raised $182,820 to buy new, warm coats, hats, gloves, long underwear, and other winter clothing for local children in need.

Since 1989, thanks to your generosity, WRAL has collected more than 172,500 coats and raised $2 million to provide warm winter clothing for Salvation Army families in need.
