Story Highlights
Sports and news coverage was forever changed after the 1972 Munich massacre. The event, as well as the expert and instinctual decisions made by the production team of ABC Sports, is chronicled in the film September 5.
Former CBS Sports Chairman and Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer Sean McManus - who is the son of legendary sportscaster and Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer Jim McKay, who led ABC's coverage of the 1972 Munich Olympics - recounts his experience of being inside the control room on that fateful day, how CBS Sports' facility in New York City prepared the cast for the film, and the moments in the film that stood out to him the most.
