Cloud-based video solutions company M2A Media has been awarded the DPP's top Committed to Sustainability mark.
The five leaf accreditation' is the highest possible score in the scheme, which was developed by the DPP to enable suppliers in the media industry to demonstrate that they're working towards reducing their environmental impact.
M2A Media's Sustainability Steering Committee, comprising representatives from business operations, product development, finance and communications, was responsible for the DPP Committed to Sustainability submission.
The committee is tasked with tracking, recording and reporting on the company's carbon impact across all functions, in order to provide a benchmark for continuous improvement and ensure corporate actions meet the company's sustainability targets, as set out in M2A Media's Environmental Policy.
Matt Hughes, chief commercial officer, M2A Media, said: We need to come together as an industry to fight climate change and must act now. We're grateful to the DPP for establishing the Committed to Sustainability programme. It provides an essential framework in which to formalise a company's sustainability initiatives. We are delighted to have scored well above the industry average on the DPP Committed to Sustainability programme, achieving five leaves out of five.
As well as now having these important policies and processes in place, it is fantastic to see how committed M2A staff are to affecting the change that we all know is needed to make broadcast technology a more sustainable industry.
