60,000 Videos On Demand, Now in Your Pocket

New customers can start streaming on Astro GO even before the Astro box arrives

Committed to offer its customers a rich and seamless viewing experience on all devices, Astro has recently enabled new customers to pre-access Astro GO services even before their Astro Box is installed at their home. With the pre-access on Astro GO, new customers can immediately stream up to 60,000 Video On Demand titles on their smartphones, tablets and PCs at no charge while waiting for their Set-Top-Box (STB) to be installed.

Since Astro GO is free for all Astro customers with easy sign-up steps, this new service is convenient and crucial when home visits and installations could be delayed due to MCO restrictions. New customers only need to download the Astro GO app and link their Astro account with the email address they registered upon subscribing. Once logged in, new customers can stream content that are part of their subscription while waiting for their scheduled visit by a technician to install Astro at their home.

Astro GO access can also be shared across 4 devices which allows new customers and their family members to enjoy their favourite content on the go. Astro GO has seen remarkable growth as customers streamed 134 million On Demand videos in 9MFY21, registering 161% jump y-o-y while its monthly active users (MAU) rose 78% y-o-y to 1.7 million driven primarily by live sports and vernacular content.

Customers can stream top favourites like live Premier League and Champion League football matches, Korean drama Mr Queen (TVN), The Rook Season 1 (HBO), The Maid (Astro Ria), Kampung Pisang bersiri siri (Astro Warna), Marry Me Senorita (Astro Ria), Upin & Ipin and Ejen Ali (Astro Ceria) as well as on demand exclusive titles such as Roald Dahl's The Witches, and Mother To Be on Astro GO upon successful subscription. For Chinese New Year, customers can stream, Feng Shui Voyage 2021, Maria Auspicious (TVB Jade), Hunan TV Spring Festival Gala 2021 (Astro Quan Jia) and Hokkien CNY Special 2021 (Hua Hee Dai).

With schools yet to reopen, students can also download the Astro GO app to follow TV Pendidikan and Astro Tutor TV (CH 601 to CH 603) tutorials to keep up with their studies while SPM candidates can prepare for revisions with a special 30 Hari Menjelang SPM' slot on the Astro Tutor TV.

On Astro GO, customers can also enjoy other features such as download to go, play from start, and enjoy 200 hours of free cloud storage. The Download To Go feature on Astro GO comes in handy as users can download their favorite shows and watch offline when there is no data and whenever you want, even on the go.
