Ericsson is selected for network transformation and expansion for residential and enterprise services
Algeria Telecom will offer residential, feature rich, triple play services along with secure enterprise networking at lower TCO
Ericsson SSR 8000 Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) consolidates Algeria Telecoms broadband aggregation network for simple and scalable operation
Algeria Telecom has chosen Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) for the transformation of their broadband aggregation network. Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will consolidate the existing network functions for a simple and scalable architecture using the Ericsson SSR 8000s Provider Edge (PE) and BNG applications.
With the Ericsson SSR 8000, Algeria Telecom will competitively meet the growing demand for residential broadband connectivity and offer secure, high-speed virtual private network (VPN) services for its enterprise customers. The new modernized network will enable Algeria Telecom to quickly meet this challenge as well as offer added-value triple play services with IPTV and video on demand for a feature rich, end-user experience. The consolidated, lower TCO network also enables Algeria Telecom to deliver secure Layer 3 VPN and high-speed internet to its enterprise customers.
In addition, the new converged, scalable IP infrastructure based on the multi-application SSR 8000 platform enables Algeria Telecom to implement new business models and provide multiple service offerings and addresses new opportunities with a quicker time to market.
The agreement includes Broadband Network Gateways (BNG) and Provider Edge (PE) applications based on the Ericsson SSR 8000 family and professional services such as project management, solution architecture, deployment and migration services.
Mohamed Sebaa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Algeria Telecom says; This new infrastructure based on Ericsson will provide the reliability, scalability, performance and flexibility for enabling us to offer more and better choices to both residential and enterprise customers.
Anders Lindblad, Head of Business Unit Cloud and IP at Ericsson says; This agreement is a result of the solid relationship that we have built up with Algeria Telecom over the years and a proof point of Ericssons competitive strength and ability to deliver converged IP networks for fixed broadband with the Ericsson SSR 8000.
