The company is pleased to announce the recent installation of a new FCR Capsula XL II all-in-one unit at Care UK's Mid and South Buckinghamshire NHS Diagnostic Centre in High Wycombe.

The Mid and South Buckinghamshire NHS Diagnostic Centre treats NHS patients and has a highly trained clinical team for fast and convenient access to high quality diagnostic imaging procedures for people in the Wycombe, Vale of Aylesbury, Chiltern and South Buckinghamshire areas. Their new FCR Capsula XL II system replaced an older CR system that was located in another room at the High Wycombe facility.

Equipped with state-of-the-art functions including an optional capability of 50-micron reading with high resolution imaging plates (HR-V and HR-VI), the FCR Capsula XL II is a compact all-in-one unit for all diagnostic imaging needs. One of its key components is an Imaging Plate that is used in place of X-ray film to easily digitise X-ray images. It is capable of extremely high throughput, displaying the image on the CR Console monitor within 30 seconds of capture.

Other new features include a streamlined footprint of 0.22m2, automatic start of IP reading and image processing when cassette is inserted, as well as Fujifilm's Image Intelligence technology.

Commenting on the recent installation, Michelle Saunders, Service Manager at The Mid and South Buckinghamshire NHS Diagnostic Centre, said: "Our radiographers were pleased with the noticeably improved image quality, and we like the fact that it is small enough to sit behind our control area, as this means the turnaround time for examinations is reduced. We're now looking into increasing the throughput of the X-ray room whilst still reducing patient waiting times, thanks to the speed and efficiency of our new Fujifilm Capsula XL II."
