At NAB 2018, Tedial launched SMARTLIVE, a cutting-edge solution for live sports production. According to the company, the solution marries artificial intelligence (AI) to an innovative metadata engine to bring the back office and archives closer to live than ever. This tight integration supports an increased number of highlights, during or after an event, and allows a specific story to be delivered to a targeted audience via multiple platforms, including social media, increasing the potential for significant growth in fan engagement.

SMARTLIVE is a major breakthrough in sports production and totally unique in the industry, he continues. It dramatically transforms the way sports and live events are staged, cataloged, and content delivered across numerous platforms, including social media. Tightly integrated with AI tools, it dramatically increases the number of auto-generated highlight clips during or after an event and pinpoints targeted-audience deliveries, increasing the potential for significant growth in fan engagement while reducing production costs.
Last year, Tedial and EVS partnered to create a bidirectional link between EVS's IPDirector live-production asset-management suite and Tedial's Evolution enterprise MAM system. The partnership was announced as British sports producer ITV Sport and Kuwait TV, the official state-run television station of Kuwait, became the first to adopt the joint solution. Integrating the two companies' technologies enables live content created in the EVS environment to be automatically added to archive workflows managed by Tedial systems.
