Verizon Honors Ericon with Top Performance Award for Corporate Social Responsibility

Ericsson ranked highest in CSR among nearly 200 Verizon suppliers

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has been awarded Verizons first Top Performance Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Ericsson ranked highest among Verizons top suppliers after the company conducted an extensive CSR evaluation of nearly 200 of its top suppliers.

Supply chain transparency is a core element of Verizons own commitments to Corporate Social Responsibility and its mission to use its technology to solve some of the worlds most pressing problems in education, healthcare, energy management and sustainability.

In 2013, Verizon assessed the CSR policies and practices of nearly 200 of its top suppliers - based on their industry, the dollar value of Verizons spending with them, their geographic scale and the size of their business. Verizon looked at the suppliers policies for ethical, environmental, social, human rights, labor and safety standards and practices that are embodied in the Verizon Supplier Code of Conduct. Verizon also reviewed the actions of suppliers in those areas and examined the results of CSR-related actions.

Ericsson received the highest CSR score - driven by its robust CSR management system, its comprehensive policies, its actions and its results.

Ericsson recently published its 21st Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility report summarizing its performance during 2013. Highlights include: a solidified approach to responsible business including rigorous compliance processes; energy efficient solutions from the companys product portfolio; and extended reach in providing access to communication for all, including refugees and students in remote areas.
