Sky Deutschland Lands Main Bundesliga Rights Package, Is Set To Broadcast 496 Exclusive Games From 2025-26 Through 2028-29 By Ken Kerschbaumer, Editorial Director

Sky Deutschland today landed the main-partner rights package with Bundesliga, and, from the start of the 2025-26 season through the 2028-29 season, 538 of the 617 matches of the Bundesliga and second-division Bundesliga will air on Sky Deutschland, 496 of them exclusively.
Sky remains the home of the Bundesliga. This is a fantastic result for football fans, Bundesliga clubs, and Sky, says Sky Deutschland CEO Barny Mills. Sky has secured more games, the most games, and the best games. Going forward, Sky Sport will offer fans 80% of all games exclusively and 100% of the top matches. We are thus strengthening our position as the leading sports provider in the long term and contributing to the growth of the league.
Those matches include Bundesliga Saturday (with the top matches of the week) and the Friday-evening matches live on Sky Sport. The acquired rights are valid for all distribution channels across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other German-speaking territories in Europe.
Live games now come with additional media rights, allowing Sky to create an immersive experience with all the goals and putting the fan in control of their viewing experience. And, with increased access to the teams and more possibilities for deeper storytelling with the latest rights packages, Sky Sport's wrap-around coverage will bring the fans closer than ever to the sport they love.
Always focusing on bringing fans the leading sports line-up, Sky Sport will have more top-quality sport than any other provider for years to come. Beyond the Bundesliga and second-division Bundesliga, Sky Deutschland also has long-term agreements with DFB-Pokal, the Premier League, the best motorsport from Formula 1 and MotoGP, world-class tennis from the ATP Tour and the WTA, the big golf tours and tournaments, as well as many other exciting sports and competitions.
Sky Sport's Bundesliga coverage will be available over the internet with next-generation TV experience Sky Stream and WOW as well as via cable and satellite with Sky Q. All broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga and second-division Bundesliga are valid for Sky in all distribution channels (satellite, cable, IPTV, web, and mobile) and, in addition to Germany, also for Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, South Tyrol, and Eastern Belgium. Also included are the rights for public screenings in restaurants, hotels, and other public establishments, which are being offered by Sky Business.
