L3Harris has added approvals from the European regulatory body, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to train Integrated Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) students at its Florida academy location. These latest approvals come a month after the company announced approvals from the U.K.'s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The newest accreditation enables cadets training for their ATPL to complete a 32-week foundation flight training program at the L3Harris Flight Academy in Sanford. The program incorporates Single and Multi-Engine flying and culminates with the Commercial Pilot License, before returning to the U.K. to complete advanced flight training, including Instrument Rating and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training.
The course is designed to take students from little or no flying experience to fully qualified airline pilot in 72 weeks and this approval, alongside the UK CAA approval in July, positions L3Harris to expand training as pilot shortages begin to impact airlines across Europe. The expanded training opportunities can enable students to graduate more efficiently and begin their journey as professional as professional pilots sooner.

Integrated ATPL The L3Harris Airline Academy ATPL program is well proven and established within multiple regulatory environments.
