The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released NJCAA TV apps for Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Roku. Through its joint partnership with BlueFrame Technology, NJCAA TV - the official digital video network of the league - will provide exclusive coverage of the association's national championships in addition to contributed content from member colleges.
The new NJCAA TV apps - which are now available as free downloads through the Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick, the Play Store on Android TV, the App Store on Apple TV, and as a Streaming Channel on Roku - provide NJCAA fans quick and easy access to their favorite live and archived events produced by the NJCAA and any of its member colleges that are clients of BlueFrame Technology. The live-first app immediately presents the timeliest content from across the entire network. NJCAA championships and member-college content are organized by channels within the app, and the user-configurable interface allows viewers to efficiently search through thousands of archived broadcasts.
These NJCAA TV over-the-top (OTT) applications comes on the heels of the NJCAA TV's fourth-generation Apple TV release last fall. The OTT-device application represents the most comprehensive offering for any national amateur-sports association.
NJCAA TV is one of the most successful initiatives in the organization's history, and it has taken a huge step forward thanks to our partnership with BlueFrame Technology, says NJCAA Executive Director Mary Ellen Leicht. From this point forward, NJCAA TV will be available for free in over 40 million households through various streaming applications as well as online at www.njcaatv.com. When NJCAA TV was launched in 2009, the goal was to provide a national platform to showcase our student-athletes and member colleges while also allowing fans to experience our national-championship events. While NJCAA TV has had great positive advances over the years, we remain committed to its original goal and look forward to continued growth and long-term success.
Since its inception in 2009, NJCAA TV has carried more than 1,900 championship-tournament events and more than 10,000 regular-season contests. More than 30 NJCAA member colleges regularly contribute content to the platform.
BlueFrame is thrilled to bring a first-class TV-viewership experience to the fans of the NJCAA for both regular-season and championship events, says Ben Kant, co-founder/CEO, BlueFrame Technology.
The NJCAA TV platform is open to any broadcaster covering NJCAA events. BlueFrame's end-to-end digital-network solution includes everything a broadcaster needs to get started, and the NJCAA TV platform provides a centralized destination for fans of the NJCAA to engage with those broadcasts. The championship content distributed through the NJCAA TV leverages BlueFrame's end-to-end digital-network solution. The platform provides the following features:
Production Truck: BlueFrame's proprietary live-production and streaming software comes complete with four-camera HD switching, four-camera instant replay, sport-specific graphics, social-media-sharing tools, and more. The sharing tools allow producers to easily capture and share highlights from the full production to promote their live streams in real time and engage new audiences.
vCloud: BlueFrame's cloud content management system provides the tools to put the NJCAA and its sponsors first. Broadcast poster image, network lead-in, and content aggregation are all configurable by broadcast, by member institution, or for the whole network. vCloud provides the flexibility for each member of NJCAA TV to select the service that meets their cost and quality goals.
Playback: NJCAA TV broadcasts can be viewed on desktop, on mobile, and now on internet-connected television devices anywhere in the world. NJCAA TV content is available live and immediately archived for on-demand viewership. This means that fans of NJCAA TV can watch whenever, wherever, and on their platform of choice.
Integration: Using BlueFrame's end-to-end service, NJCAA TV benefits from the seamless integration. When a broadcast is scheduled, it is immediately available for producers in Production Truck as well as for viewers on all of their NJCAA TV-branded presences.
