(08/11/2014) A summit dedicated to forecasting the future of sports television and production technology also takes the time to honor its history. This year's SVG Summit (Dec. 15-16, New York Hilton) will feature a keynote conversation with Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductees Ken Aagaard, Bob Dixon, and George Orgera.
At 2 p.m. ET on Dec. 15, these three TV legends will discuss their careers and offer their insight into where their industries may be headed.
During his career, which began at WMAQ Chicago nearly 45 years ago, Ken Aagaard has had an impact on nearly every major national and global sporting event as part of NBC Sports and, currently, CBS Sports where is EVP, Engineering, Operations, and Production Services.
Bob Dixon inspired a generation of TV audio professionals during a career that was highlighted by his work on 12 Olympic broadcasts for ABC, CBS, and NBC and also saw him help HBO Sports transition from mono to stereo sound. He also designed and implemented the first stereo broadcast of the Olympics (1998) and the first discreet 5.1 Surround broadcast (2008). He retired in 2010 following the London Olympics.
Founding CEO and President, F&F Productions, George Orgera is a pioneer in remote production and remains the driving force behind a company rooted in a commitment to excellence in engineering.
This keynote is part of a program that includes additional marquee speakers, including Steve Bornstein (former President/CEO NFL Network) and David Hill (Chairman/CEO Fox Sports Media Group). Both will be subjects of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame Inductee Keynote Conversations with ESPN commentator/reporter Jeremy Schaap which kicks off the SVG Summit.
