The Writers Guild of South Africa (WGSA) Muse Awards exclusively honours South African performance writers, allowing the local content production industry to celebrate creativity, quality and writing excellence in this field.

The entry deadline is 30 of November 2014, with nominees announced at the end of February 2015 and the award ceremony set to take place on 9 March 2015.

This year s awards categories include: Feature Film, TV Drama, Radio Drama, TV Comedy, Documentary, Animation, Stage Plays and Unproduced Script (in any genre).

Winners receive a personalised certificate and a specially designed WGSA Muse Trophy.

Eligibility

Only scripts written by paid-up members in good standing of the WGSA are allowed to enter the WGSA Muse Awards.

Qualification for awards is based on screen or stage credits.

Scripts previously entered into any other competitions are eligible.

Scripts previously entered into the WGSA MUSE Awards are not eligible.

Feature Film, Long Form Animation and Stage scripts must have been produced and publicly exhibited for seven consecutive days, released to the public on DVD or broadcast in South Africa between the 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2014.

All TV category scripts must have been produced and publicly exhibited or broadcast in South Africa between the 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2014.

Only unproduced scripts may be entered into the Spec category. They can be from any genre, and must be registered with the WGSA Script Registry. These scripts must be totally unencumbered (i.e. the writer must still own the script and all the rights contained therein. There must be no option of any kind on the script.)

Entry

All entries must be submitted online accompanied by a non-refundable R 100.00 entry fee.
