Net CAD wins coveted Pick Hits Award at NAB2004

VTG Audio and Stardraw are pleased to announce that Net CAD has won a Pick Hits award at NAB 2004. Net CAD is VTG Audios new on-line custom panel design and ordering application that was commissioned from software providers, Stardraw.com, and went live at the recent NSCA show in Las Vegas.

Each year, readers of Broadcast Engineering select the most innovative and exciting products to come out of the NAB convention. Readers also form the panel of judges who are all professionals working the broadcast, post and network and satellite industries, and who remain anonymous throughout the judging process. The criteria are that products must be new and not shown at a previous NAB convention, and that they must have some positive impact on the intended users everyday work and, critically, offer substantial improvement over previous technology.

Based on the Stardraw.net platform, Net CAD is delivered through the websites of VTG Audios daughter companies Horizon Music and Rapco and works from within a browser so there is nothing to download or install in the conventional sense. It comprises a drag-and-drop interface linked to a complete library of all of Rapcos and Horizon Musics panel products so the user simply selects the panel he or she wants, drags on the connectors that are needed, and sets engraving, finishes, artwork and so on. Once the design is complete, a separate pop-up report delivers an instant quote. Furthermore, this system can support highly complex pricing models, e.g. setup charges, product charges, variable charges (such as engraving by character) and, most importantly, pricing by user profile; discounts may be set based on who the user is and the type of account he has.
