The IP is not the future, is here The IP Showcase area demonstrated at IBC the strides that have been made to formalize and universally adopted standards of IP signal flow series in real time under standard SMPTE ST 2110.

Undoubtedly, one of the areas that most captured the attention of professionals who visited 2017 IBC in Amsterdam was the Showcase IP, an experience that already was launched in 2016 to demonstrate the possibilities for interoperability of IP and that this year has added more companies SAS that have been released its IP solutions and the great advances that they have been made to formalize and universally adopted standards of IP signal flow series real-time SMPTE ST 2110.

With this experience it has been clear that IP production in real time is a practical, flexible and effective reality that moves at high speed in the main operations. The IP is not the future, is already here.

Professional associations such as the Audio Engineering Society (AES), Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), European Broadcasting Union (EBU/EBU), Manufacturers and Suppliers of Broadcast and Media Technology Products and Services (IABM), Media Networking, AMWA Alliance (MNA), Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and Video Services Forum (VSF) have coordinated with IBC to provide one unique destination all over the world, from broadcasting/TI engineers and CEOs to producers of television, can learn everything you need to know to exploit the full potential of the use of the IP for the media in real time.

A real experience

More than 40 suppliers have been working together to demonstrate real cases of IP interoperability based on the final draft SMPTE ST 2110 standards and specifications of NMOS of AMWA, a single set of standards and common specifications for Interoperability IP that you allow to take advantage of the flexibility and efficiency of the IP in the media in real time. To demonstrate the ease of use and interoperability, demonstrations are divided into units of logical applications such as sign production, contribution and broadcast signal flows flows... all controlled by friendly user interfaces.

En la zona IP Showcase han quedado patente los beneficios comerciales, t cnicos y creativos de los flujos de trabajo IP, los pasos pr cticos a seguir para poder aprovechar las ventajas del uso de redes IP para los medios de comunicaci n en tiempo real; la manera en que otros ya utilizan IP en aplicaciones reales de difusi n; y el impacto del est ndar SMPTE ST 2110 sobre redes IP aplicadas al broadcast.

Tambi n ha servido para anticipar lo que deparar el futuro, incluida la gesti n de conexiones NMOS IS-05 para sistemas de medios basados en IP.
