Broadcasting and content industry PR agency Franklin Rae is under new ownership. Tessa Laws, founder of media law firm newlawslegal, has acquired Franklin Rae from James Grant Group (JGG) for an undisclosed sum. Sadie Groom, managing director of Bubble & Squeak and Silver Lining Communications will add the management of Franklin Rae to her current roles.

Tessa Laws says: Franklin Rae is one of the biggest names in PR in the broadcasting and content industry. With shared contacts, clients and objectives in the industry, it seemed a perfect fit for me to bring Franklin Rae alongside newlawslegal. Working alongside Sadie and her companies there are some great synergies and I'm very excited about the prospect of fuelling the further growth of Franklin Rae, such a market-leading brand.
Bubble & Squeak is a 13-year-old PR agency focusing on the technology and services side of the broadcast industry, Silver Lining Communications was founded in 2012 to provide marketing services and consumer technology PR. Sadie Groom will manage all three companies and using her extensive industry experience will work on their growth and strategic plans, as well as directly with all the clients and press.
Jill Franklin, who founded Franklin Rae in 2003, says: I'm delighted that Tessa is backing Franklin Rae's next phase of development and that Sadie Groom has been appointed to take the helm. Sadie has terrific industry experience and definitely has got what it takes to drive the company forward. I'm looking forward to contributing all I can to Franklin Rae's strategic development both in the UK and internationally.
Jill Franklin will sit on the Franklin Rae board alongside Jonathan Jackson, until recently Group Managing Director of DRG, the UK's largest independent TV distribution company, and Steve Leach formerly of Big Mouth Media.

The Franklin Rae trading name and B2B PR business will move to a new company under the ownership of Tessa Laws. Tessa Laws is a qualified lawyer with sixteen years' City legal experience. She provides hands-on commercial advice and guidance to a wide range of clients including numerous independent TV production company disposals, acquisitions and disposals of marketing services and advertising interests and investments in on and offline print. Previous to establishing her own company, newlawslegal, she was a Partner at Rosenblatt Solicitors.
Franklin Rae is an award-winning PR agency with a reputation for being the international media and entertainment industrys leading communication specialist. Its client list spans the globe and comprises those who shape the media industry, making entertainment for now and for the future. James Grant Group acquired Franklin Rae in December 2011.
Under its new ownership, Franklin Rae's focus will be building and growing its core operation for which it has become best-known its B2B profile-raising activity for production and wider media companies in the UK and worldwide.
