ABOUT ROSE D'OR

The Rose dOr is one of the worlds most important international entertainment television awards founded in 1961 in Montreux, Switzerland.

Today television professionals, producers, managers of private and public television stations and production company heads from about 40 countries participate annually. Since its inception, the Rose d'Or has been an important networking platform and a marketplace for innovation and ideas.

The highlight of the Rose dOr is the glittering Awards Night, in which the Golden Roses for best television entertainment programmes and formats are presented. With these coveted awards, the Rose dOr Festival recognizes originality, quality and creativity, and sets the standard for entertainment television.

Returning to EUROVISION, the Rose dOr awards were presented tonight at an evening celebration dinner at the Square, in Brussels. The awards were presented in six categories for the best and most creative entertainment television programmes from around the world. More than 300 entries from over 30 countries were submitted this year to participate in this prestigious competition.

The evening was hosted by popular Dutch TV personality and humanitarian Lucille Werner, with honoured guests Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz of Belgium in attendance at the ceremony. The awards left Switzerland for the first time in 52 years, being held as the final event of the 2013 Media Summit.

The winners in the six competition categories are:

Nominated programmes were announced in April 2013, after the first round of judging, during which a shortlist of the three best programmes were selected in each of the six categories. The six Heads of Jury, who formed the Final Jury, determined the best in each category earlier this week.
