StarSat and AFOREVO join forces to elevate local content --

SA PayTV operator StarSat and online African entertainment video content AFOREVO, have joined forces to extend the reach across the African continent. The launch of the channel was announced at DISCOP Africa, taking place in Sandton between 2 and 4 November 2016.
Commenting on the launch, Michael Dearham, StarTimes Vice-President and managing director of Media Division, said Consistent with StarTimes mission and values, our search for quality TV channels and award-winning television programming is at the heart of our commitment to service excellence. We are pleased to announce our partnership with Aforevo, whose exciting channel will most certainly add great entertainment value and diversity to an already stunning line-up of channels on our digital platform.
AFROREVO has two components; AFOREVO Movies, showcasing a wide range of local movies on offer and AFOREVO Music TV which takes a look at behind the scenes of popular musicians and interviews that allow fans to get to know their favourite musicians better. It showcases a wide variety of locally produced music content.
Murphy Anawana, AFOREVO founder said We re regarded as a leading YouTube network provider of African content. African people want to consume content that depicts their everyday lives and content that they can relate to, in their desired languages. We want to reach all parts of the African continent creating, distributing and celebrating the wonderful African content, starting from movies to tutorials and every other content in-between. As such, this partnership with StarSat will provide our viewers with more options to consume our content. Connectivity is still a challenge on the continent and StarSat has helped us overcome this challenge.
As Nollywood seems to have captured the imagination of Africans in particular, AFOREVO is supremely glad to be a part of the solution that brings the whole Nollywood revolution and entertainment experience to the doorstep of non English-speaking sub-Saharan Africans. With StarTimes and AFOREVO having seen the potential of this niche that AFOREVO TV occupies, and StarTimes having wholeheartedly opted to carry AFOREVO TV, exciting times await the target audience of French-speaking Africans, said Afam Anawana, CEO of AFOREVO.
AFOREVO channel will be carried on StarSat, channel 606. Fans from the rest of Africa can enjoy entertainment video content such as movies, comedy shows, gospel music, high-life music, talk-shows etc. all at the touch of a button.
