
Spain participates in eight feature film projects selected in Cartoon Movie 2018 La primera coproducci n entre Espa a y China, pel culas basadas en la vida de Bu uel y Garc a M rquez, y el nuevo de trabajo del director de Psiconautas', entre las novedades en la 20 edici n de Cartoon Movie.
Espa a ser la gran protagonista de Cartoon Movie, el foro europeo de coproducci n para largometrajes de animaci n que en su vig sima edici n pondr el foco en la animaci n de este pa s. Del 7 al 9 de marzo, la ciudad francesa de Burdeos acoger una nueva edici n de esta iniciativa creada para fortalecer la producci n y distribuci n de cine de animaci n europeo y que este a o presenta 60 nuevos proyectos de 22 pa ses, incluyendo ocho con participaci n espa ola.
Organizado por ICAA (Instituto de la Cinematograf a y de las Artes Audiovisuales) y Diboos, la Federaci n Espa ola de Asociaciones de Productores de Animaci n, con el apoyo de ICEX Espa a Exportaci n e Inversiones y Animation from Spain, el Spotlight on Spain incluir , adem s de los pitchings de los proyectos seleccionados, presentaciones de estudios y varias actividades con el fin de promocionar el trabajo de las productoras espa olas.
Espa a estar presente en Cartoon Movie 2018 con ocho proyectos en distintas etapas de producci n cuyos representantes viajan a Burdeos en b squeda de coproductores y socios financieros, as como de acuerdos de pre-ventas y distribuci n, que les permitan completar y acelerar la producci n de sus obras.
Con un presupuesto global de 310 millones de euros, los 60 proyectos presentados en Cartoon Movie 2018 suman 79 nuevas horas de animaci n. Francia lidera el evento con 17 proyectos seguida por Alemania y Espa a, con siete y cinco proyectos respectivamente. Los proyectos, que se encuentran en distintas etapas de producci n, ser n presentados a cerca de 850 profesionales del sector, entre los que se encuentran potenciales coproductores e inversores, distribuidores, exhibidores, cadenas de televisi n y plataformas de v deo bajo demanda de toda Europa.
Animaci n Made in Spain' La lista de proyectos espa oles seleccionados incluye a Dragonkeeper, largometraje de animaci n familiar basado en la primera novela de la multipremiada saga de libros de la australiana Carole Wilkinson y codirigido por Ignacio Ferreras (Wrinkles) y Jian-Ping Li. Producida por Dragoia Media, Movistar , Atresmedia Cine junto a China Film Animation, la principal empresa de producci n y distribuci n de cine del pa s asi tico, el filme se presenta en la categor a de obras en producci n.
En esta secci n tambi n participa Bu uel in the labyrinth of the turtles, pel cula dirigida por Salvador Sim que toma como punto de partida el c mic hom nimo de Ferm n Montero. Con estreno previsto para 2018, el filme es una producci n de Sygnatia y The Glow Animation Studio (en coproducci n con la holandesa Submarine) y narra las vicisitudes del rodaje del documental Las Hurdes del director Luis Bu uel.
La tercera obra espa ola en etapa de producci n es Elcano, la primera vuelta al mundo, una producci n de la vasca Dibulitoon Studio dirigida por ngel Alonso y con estreno previsto para 2019. Dirigida al p blico familiar, este filme de aventuras sigue los pasos de Juan Sebasti n Elcano en su misi n por completar la primera vuelta al mundo.
Sygnatia y The Glow Animation Studio, junto al productor Manuel Crist bal y el director Salvador Sim , tambi n est n detr s de Gabo - Memorias de una vida m gica, filme inspirado en la novela gr fica hom nima sobre una de las figuras m s importantes de la literatura latinoamericana: Gabriel Garc a M rquez. Con coproducci n de la colombiana Rey Naranjo, la pel cula est concebida para el p blico adulto y se presenta en la categor a en concepto .
La lista de proyectos liderados por empresas espa ola se completa con El viaje imposible, pel cula de aventuras para p blico familiar que combina animaci n en 3D con imagen real y que marcar el debut en largo del director Abraham L pez Guerrero. Producen El Viaje Imposible junto a la espa ola 3 Doubles Producciones y la inglesa Virtual IT Projects.
Espa a tambi n estar presente en otros tres proyectos que cuentan con la participaci n de estudios espa oles en calidad de coproductores minoritarios como One day with life, filme basado en la vida del reportero polaco Ryszard Kapuscinski. Codirigido por el documentalista y escritor Ra l De La Fuente, y con coproducci n de la espa ola Kanaki Films, el filme est por concluir su producci n y presentar un avance a los cerca de 850 profesionales presentes en Burdeos.
Por su parte, las espa olas UniKo y Abano Produci ns participan en Unicorn Wars, el nuevo trabajo de Alberto V zquez (Psiconautas, los ni os olvidados) producido por la francesa Autour de Minuit y dirigido al p blico joven adulto/adulto, mientras que la madrile a 12 Pingu inos es coproductora minoritariade Trip to Teulada, una producci n italiana dirigida por Nicola Contini.
Junto a estas productoras, una amplia delegaci n espa ola estar presente en Burdeos para promocionar sus trabajos, servicios y cat logos entre los que se encuentran productoras como Simplea Animation, MediaPro y 3D Wire, distribuidores como A Contracorriente Films, Under the Milky Way, Big Pictures Films, agentes de ventas como Latido Films, empresas y broadcasters como Telef nica Audiovisual Digital y Televisi de Catalunya, y desarrolladores de videojuegos como Drakhar Studio, que estar participando en Cartoon Games and Transmedia, actividad paralela a Cartoon Movie organizada con el objetivo de crear sinergias entre las industrias de la animaci n y la de los videojuegos.
