Actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela bids farewell to The Wife' [WATCH]Talented actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela. who played Hlomu Zulu in The Wife' for three seasons has exited the Showmax telenovela.

Skeem Saam actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela, who plays Hlomu Zulu in the award-winning telenovela The Wife has left the show.

IT'S A WRAP FOR UMAHLOMU ZULU The popular actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela took to her Instagram account on Friday, 10 February to reveal she's done filming The Wife as Hlomu Zulu.

It's a picture wrap for uMahlomu. I walked into this production as a young lady and left as a wise woman. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and has been a part of my journey from the very beginning. A huge thank you to @Showmaxoinline, @Staineglasstv1, and @dstv for this amazing opportunity.

Mavimbela also thanked the 5 Am gang for sticking with her through all the seasons.

The Wife actress previously revealed in an interview with Daily Sun that playing Hlomu Zulu came with challenges and that she had to get therapy.

Playing Hlomu came with its own challenges. It was nothing I expected to relate to her at first. but when I got into her character, I was absorbed so much that I couldn't separate myself from her. I found myself thinking like Hlomu even when I was on set. Getting into her character came so naturally so much that I found myself struggling to get out of character.

Mavimbela adds that it is for this reason that she had to get therapy and find support so that she could live her life again.

I had to separate Hlomu from Mbali. There were also other challenges in terms of storyline, work, and trying to find myself as this was my first big break.
