The RTVE Chair at the Polytechnic University of Madrid has joined companies Cellnex Telecom, Dolby and Sapec. De esta forma, la C tedra reafirma su compromiso con el impulso de las nuevas tecnolog as y con el est mulo de las vocaciones entre los estudiantes. La implicaci n de estas tres entidades supone tambi n que constituyan el Comit Asesor de la C tedra en aspectos tecnol gicos.
Entre las tecnolog as audiovisuales que se impulsan desde la C tedra RTVE en la UPM est n la Ultra Alta Definici n (UHD), el formato de codificaci n HEVC, el est ndar de transmisi n DVB-T2 y el audio de nueva generaci n NGA para lograr una experiencia UHD completa.
Ya en el acto de creaci n de la C tedra en enero de 2015, tanto Enrique Alejo, director general Corporativo de RTVE, como F lix P rez, director de la Escuela T cnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicaci n de la UPM, subrayaron que el acuerdo de constituci n contemplaba la posible adhesi n de otras empresas y entidades en el futuro, de modo que la C tedra ejerciese un efecto tractor sobre la industria audiovisual en Espa a.
Cellnex Telecom, Dolby y Sapec han participado en las actividades de la C tedra desde sus comienzos. Estuvieron involucradas en las primeras emisiones de se al de UHD en DVB-T2, haciendo uso de H.265, en mayo de 2015. Posteriormente, se incorpor el uso de High Dynamic Range (HDR) y Wider Color Gamut (WCG) en emisiones en Sevilla, con ocasi n del 4K Summit en noviembre de 2015. Y este a o la colaboraci n ha permitido la transmisi n en directo de la pera Parsifal' en UHD v a sat lite a Kinepolis, y a trav s de DVB-T2 en Madrid y Barcelona.
Para el profesor Jos Manuel Men ndez, director de la C tedra, la adhesi n de estas empresas tan relevantes demuestra que la C tedra cumple su objetivo de impulsar las nuevas tecnolog as, conocer las implicaciones de su despliegue, y dar a los trabajos realizados una proyecci n internacional, dado el marcado car cter global que el sector tiene en estos momentos .
Cellnex Telecom es uno de los principales operadores independientes de infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones inal mbricas y de radiodifusi n de Europa. Ofrece una cobertura de TDT y radio del 99% de la poblaci n desde m s de 3.000 centros emisores en el territorio nacional. El operador est colabora muy activamente en la C tedra tanto en las pruebas de emisi n en DVB-T2 como en la realizaci n de medidas de eficiencia y capacidad de red.
En cuanto a Sapec es una compa a espa ola con gran proyecci n internacional dedicada al transporte de se al de video en entornos profesionales. Se ha especializado en el desarrollo y fabricaci n de equipos codificadores y decodificadores de se al de TV con tecnolog as MPEG: HEVC, AVC, MPEG2. Participa muy activamente en la C tedra en tareas de codificaci n de se al UHD mediante el est ndar HEVC y su valoraci n comparativa con otros est ndares de codificaci n.
Por ltimo, Dolby est aportando a la C tedra equipamiento y tecnolog a Dolby AC-4 de codificaci n de audio, procesamiento multicanal con Dolby Atmos. La apuesta de esta multinacional frente a otras propuestas pasa por el procesado y transmisi n de se al de v deo UHD con HDR y WCG mediante su sistema Dolby Vision.
