ATFT Readiness Workshop on Sheffield Documentary Festival

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and The Association for Transformation in Film and Television (ATFT) are inviting you to an export market introduction and readiness workshop on Sheffield Doc Fest in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. As part of our mandate to up skill our members in financing, distribution, sales and co-production, ATFT will host three workshops in three cities in preparation for Sheffield Doc Fest taking place between the 05th and 10th June 2015 in Sheffield, United Kingdom. The workshops are open to any interested parties who are looking to find out more about this market, but are mandatory for delegates attending this year's Sheffield Doc Fest with the South African Indies/DTI delegation. Any delegate who is going to Sheffield Doc Fest this year that does not attend the workshop will be disqualified from applying for any further markets.

The workshops will be split into two parts and the days programme will be as follows:

09h00-13h00: The morning session is an introduction to ATFT and how our delegations work, as well as an introduction to Sheffield Doc Fest and is for anyone who has never attended the festival before. The facilitator will look at pitching tips and how to pitch and package your project for the Meetmarket and the programmes around Sheffield Doc fest.We will also explain the DTI EMIA scheme used to finance the delegations to attend these markets and how to apply through ATFT or as individual companies through the Individual Exhibitor scheme and be part of the South African Indies delegation to this event.

13h00-14h00: Lunch

14h00-16h00: The afternoon session is for delegates only and will cover how to make the most of Sheffield Doc Fest and attract investment to your project specific to attendees projects and companies and how to go about selling them or financing them at this festival. Attendees can ask the facilitator for advice and pitch their project and get feedback.

The Sheffield Doc Fest 2015 workshops will be facilitated by Andy Jones. Impact Producer Andy Jones has produced films in Africa for networks including BBC, Channel 4 and Al Jazeera. His forthcoming feature documentary I Shot Bi Kidude' will premiere at Durban Film Festival in July. Andy has been creative director of the ScreenStation collective since 2000 and set up RADiO FiLM www.radiofilm.co.uk www.screenstation.net
