Red Bee has been responsible for a number of recent high-profile sports-media projects, such as exclusively delivering the Rugby World Cup 2019 to UK audiences on ITV and together with Spring Media announcing Wnited, the world's first OTT service dedicated to women's soccer.

An announcement made on Oct. 21 at Sportel Monaco 2019, Wnited will launch in Q1 2020 and will be aggregate high-level multicamera content from top-tier leagues in Europe, Asia, and the Americas as well as national team matches to global audiences. With both free and paid subscription-based consumption options, Wnited is set to include 300+ live matches and a multitude of VOD content in 2020. Wnited is launched on the Red Bee Managed OTT Platform, which includes award-winning ultra-low-latency live feeds.

In addition to Wnited, Red Bee Media reached record low latency on its live OTT feed during NAB 2019 - reaching as low as 3,5 seconds glass-to-glass, which is faster than traditional broadcasting feeds. This accomplishment was achieved using commoditized cloud-based, open-source-standard technology, using open-internet connectivity only.

As for the Rugby World Cup, Red Bee Media delivered live broadcasts of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan for ITV, providing Playout, MCR, and Media Management services throughout the entire tournament. With a total of 45 live matches on ITV and ITV4, Red Bee brought more than 130 hours of world-class rugby to millions of viewers in the UK during the six-week event. Rigorous planning started in 2018 and included provisioning of extra staff, infrastructure, and disaster-recovery rehearsals as well as a full World Cup simulation exercise ahead of the start of the tournament. Saturday morning's final between England and South Africa peaked at 12.8 million viewers, the biggest morning audience on any UK channel since the royal wedding in 2011.
