PHABRIX creates high demand at KOBA Korea 2016 KOBA this year was a hive of activity with unprecedented interest in all things 4K.
With a large manufacturing base in South Korea supporting a vibrant sophisticated broadcast industry, PHABRIX attracted many customers to see its newly released PHABRIX Qx for UHDTV1/4K and UHDTV 2/8K.
Designed as a compliance tool the Qx has no equal for testing UHDTV formats particularly using its unique physical layer analysis toolset. This trademarked development RTE' (real time eye and jitter analysis), assist manufacturers by providing instant automated measurements required for testing.
With its combined generator and analysis toolset, the PHABRIX Qx is a complete solution with focussed toolsets offering standards testing including aspect ratio, colour format, frequency, level, and bit depth. Other tools included CRC testing, timing, data view and ancillary data analysis.
Paul Nicholls marketing director who was at the show commented: The Qx has some unique selling points that make it a stand out product in the market for UHDTV testing. With a possible 1350 different formats under test, the interface has been cleverly designed to provide an easy workspace for selecting standards under test. Having an excellent UHDTV generator as part of the standard build has provided a benchmark for customers testing their equipment where layout can be a significant challenge in the design of products up to 12G SDI'.
The PHABRIX Qx provides 4 SDI inputs, each capable of supporting 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G. It also has an additional 4 SDI outputs capable of standards up to 12G-SDI.
With support for 10GE via two SFP cages, the Qx also provides support initially for SMPTE 2022-6. The company has been asked to support TICO and ASPEN among other IP formats currently in development offering a truly hybrid solution.
