Doireann and Eogan announced on yesterday's morning's 2FM Breakfast with Doireann & Eoghan that they will be doing a sleep-out on the 9th December to boost funds for St Vincent de Paul annual appeal.
Joined by their fellow 2FM colleagues, Emma Power and Aindri de Paor, on the night of the 9th into the 10th of December Doireann and Eoghan are going to be doing a sleeping rough.
Speaking on yesterday's morning's 2FM Breakfast Show Doireann and Eoghan said: This year the Annual Appeal of the Society of St Vincent de Paul will be one of the most difficult in the Society's 176 years history. With SVP shops closed for so long and collections interrupted, donations are needed now more than ever. Because many families will face Impossible Choices this Christmas. If you are struggling to keep a roof over your head, how do you choose between a decent dinner or a warm house? What do you sacrifice to buy those precious gifts after such a tough year? In the first 10 months of this year alone almost 112,000 requests for help were received by SVP as families struggle to keep their heads above water. And with Christmas approaching SVP expect that number to increase substantially and exceed 160,000.. That's why we need your help for the 2fm Breakfast Christmas Sleep Out!
We're sleeping out under the stars! And Emma and Aindri are going to keep us company!
And it's all to raise funds for SVP, with a few very special Christmas carols along the way, all day on 2fm! So, join us on Wednesday morning when we'll be outside and listen in to 2fm all day on Wednesday to hear special performances.
