
The library, Summer 1993, Abracadabra and Author, top the number of presets by Spain for the Platinum AwardsLa V edici n de los Platino del Cine Iberoamericano, cuya gala se celebrar en el Teatro Gran Tlachco del Parque Xcaret (Rivera Maya, M xico), bate r cord de participaci n con 848 largometrajes y a ade dos nuevas categor as dedicadas a la Mejor Interpretaci n Masculina y Femenina en Miniserie o Teleserie.
El Consejo de Direcci n de los Premios Platino del Cine Iberoamericano ha anunciado este martes las pel culas preseleccionadas para su quinta edici n, cuya gala de entrega se celebrar el pr ximo 29 de abril en el Teatro Gran Tlachco del Parque Xcaret (Riviera Maya, M xico).
Por parte de Espa a, The library, de Isabel Coixet, postulada en seis categor as; Summer 1993, de Carla Sim n, en cinco; Abracadabra, de Pablo Berger, en cuatro; y The author, de Manuel Mart n Cuenca, en tres apartados; son las producciones nacionales que m s candidaturas reciben.
Por quinto a o consecutivo y como reflejo del auge de las filmograf as iberoamericanas, la cifra de producciones participantes ha marcado el r cord de 848. De stas, 21 han sido preseleccionadas por Espa a para estar entre las siguientes nominaciones, que se dar n a conocer el 20 de febrero. Por ltimo, el 14 de marzo llegar el momento de conocer a las cinco finalistas por cada categor a de premios.
Adem s, hay que destacar que los Platino 2018 incorporan dos nuevas categor as que premiar n a la Mejor Interpretaci n Masculina y Femenina de Miniserie o Teleserie Cinematogr fica Iberoamericana. Los 20 aspirantes a estar entre las 5 finalistas de estos apartados se desvelar n el pr ximo 20 de febrero.
Las producciones elegidas por Espa a que optar n a estar presentes entre las finalistas son, en el apartado de Mejor Pel cula Iberoamericana de Ficci n: Abracadabra, de Pablo Berger; The author, by Manuel Mart n Cuenca; The library, by Isabel Coixet and Perfect strangers, de lex de la Iglesia.
Adem s, otras seis obras con participaci n espa ola han sido preseleccionadas por otros pa ses, entre las que figuran A fantastic woman o The mountain range.
En la categor a de Mejor Direcci n concurren lex de la Iglesia, por Perfect strangers; Isabel Coixet, por The library y Manuel Mart n Cuenca, por The author.

Al galard n que premia a los productores que apuestan por los nuevos realizadores del cine iberoamericano, el Premio Platino a la Mejor pera Prima de Ficci n, concurren The secret of Marrowbone, de Sergio G. S nchez; The call, de Javier Ambrossi y Javier Calvo, y Summer 1993, de Carla Sim n.
Las aspirantes espa olas a estar entre las finalistas a la Mejor Pel cula de Animaci n son Deep, of Julio Soto Gurpide; Nur y el templo del drag n, de Juan Bautista Berasategui y Tadeo Jones 2: The secret of King Midas, de Enrique Gato y David Alonso.
Las candidaturas de Espa a al Premio Cine y Educaci n en Valores son Handia (Aitor Arregi y Jon Gara o), Lo Que De Verdad Importa (Paco Arango) y I dont want to say goodbye (Lino Escalera), si bien han sido incluidas otras obras con participaci n espa ola, por otros pa ses.
M xico, pa s anfitri nTras Ciudad de Panam en 2014, Marbella (Espa a) en 2015, Punta del Este (Uruguay) en 2016 y Madrid (Espa a) en 2017, ahora es la Riviera Maya (M xico), la sede de la gala de entrega de los primeros galardones globales del s ptimo arte iberoamericano. Con la celebraci n de la ceremonia en tierras mexicanas, el Consejo de Direcci n de los Platino quiere homenajear as a una de las filmograf as con mayor historia y talento, no solo de la regi n, sino tambi n del mundo. En un a o muy especial para el s ptimo arte de este pa s, ya que en 2018 los Ariel, uno de los galardones iberoamericanos m s longevos, otorgados por la Academia Mexicana de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematogr ficas, llegan a su 60 edici n.
Los Premios Platino del Cine Iberoamericano promovidos por EGEDA (Entidad de Gesti n de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales), con FIPCA (Federaci n Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematogr ficos y Audiovisuales), y con el apoyo de las Academias e Institutos de cine iberoamericanos, Latin Artist y la Fundaci n AISGE, trabajan desde su primera edici n en 2014 en su principal objetivo que no es otro que lograr la promoci n y difusi n del cine iberoamericano y que los xitos que se consiguen en los festivales m s prestigiosos se traduzcan tambi n en excelentes resultados en las salas comerciales, asegurando que nuestro cine tenga la distribuci n que se merece.
