PromaxBDA Africa 2013 applauds doccies --

The documentary Miracle Rising: South Africa and the factual series, Gangs of Britain, won two gold and three silver awards at PromaxBDA Africa 2013.

A E Networks UK, the broadcaster behind the factual entertainment channels HISTORY and Crime & Investigation Network (CI), is honoured to receive industry recognition in such key territories.

Anna Priest, vice president of Marcoms at A E Networks UK, said: Our creative teams put a lot of effort into conceptualising and implementing the promotional campaigns for these two phenomenal pieces of factual entertainment, so it s fantastic that their efforts have been acknowledged in this way.

Miracle Rising: South Africa won a gold award for Best Print Ad and a silver award for Best Outdoor Poster.

The film received an overwhelmingly positive response from South African audiences with the initial broadcast on DStv drawing a peak audience of 113,000 up 495 percent above the slot average.

The documentary features the story of South Africa s political transformation leading to the country s first free and fair elections in 1994.

Presented by Spandau Ballet s Gary and Martin Kemp, Gangs of Britain paints a fascinating picture of the United Kingdom s dark underworld.

The factual series, which intercuts archive footage with re-construction, received a gold award for Best Documentary or Factual Entertainment Programme Promo and silver awards for Best Directing and Best Promo not using Programme.
