BBC Studios and Post Production appoints Meryl McLaren as its new Commercial Manager 09 Jan 2014

BBC Studios and Post Production, the BBC's commercial facilities company, has appointed Meryl McLaren as its new Commercial Manager. Meryl will lead and develop the commercial delivery of studios and post production services, driving new business and excellent customer service.

Meryl has been promoted from her role as lead Account Manager, where she worked on the successful delivery of major primetime shows like Strictly Come Dancing, Children in Need and ITV's Your Face Sound Familiar. She was also instrumental in ensuring the smooth transition of programmes from Television Centre to Elstree last year, such as Pointless, Room 101, Friday Download and Channel Four's Big Fat Quiz, as well as attracting new shows like Father Figure, House of Fools and ITV2's Fake Reaction. Prior to joining BBC Studios and Post Production in 2010, Meryl was part of the studios sales team at Pinewood Shepperton.

We're delighted to announce Meryl is taking on the Commercial Manager role said John O'Callaghan, Head of Studios and Post Production Services at BBC Studios and Post Production. She has a strong track record in winning new business and successfully overseeing the commercial delivery of high profile shows, backed up by lots of relevant industry experience and contacts.

Meryl added, This is a fantastic opportunity for me to build on the work I've been doing over the past three years at BBC Studios and Post Production. We have highly experienced creative and technical teams, working with newly upgraded facilities here in Elstree, so are able to offer first-rate services and solutions to a wide range of productions. I'm also excited to be working towards our return to Television Centre in 2015.

BBC Studios and Post Production works with broadcasters and media companies, making content for a variety of broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five and Sky, from Deal or No Deal and A League of Their Own, to EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing. Whilst Television Centre is being redeveloped, BBC Studios and Post Production has relocated its London studio business to Elstree, where it offers fully equipped HD TV studios and post production services. It will be returning to Television Centre in 2015.
