Sky Go cements its position as the home of mobile TV as 14 new channels join the service
Sky Go extends leadership in mobile TV becoming the home of the widest range of entertainment channels anywhere with 3G/4G or Wi-Fi signal
From today, Sky Go the award-winning mobile TV service, will offer a further 14 entertainment channels to watch across the full set of Sky Go compatible devices. Now with the widest range of entertainment channels anywhere you like, customers have an even greater choice of what to watch on Sky Go whenever they want in line with their subscriptions.
Comedy Central, MTV, Dave, Watch, Gold, Discovery, Nat Geo and History are just a selection of the 14 new channels that can now be watched with any Sky Go device. So if customers want to remind themselves of some of Dynamo's biggest stunts in Dynamo: Magician Impossible (Watch),or listen to Jack Dee's twisted storytelling in Crackanory (Dave) or simply keep up with talked about shows like Geordie Shore (MTV); it's all there on Sky Go if the main TV is being used by someone else at home.
There are more award-winning shows from an even wider range of channels for customers to watch at no extra cost live or on demand. Up to 57 different channels are now available on Sky Go, with 40 entertainment channels sitting alongside 6 Sky Sports channels and 11 Sky Movies channels.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky's Brand Director of TV Products, comments: Sky Go has gone from strength to strength since it launched in July 2011 and now attracts over 3 million unique users quarterly. The addition of these new channels is part of our continued commitment to provide our customers with a great TV experience whenever and wherever they want it, all at no extra cost. Customers now have even more choice and flexibility whether they want to watch TV Box Sets, live Barclays Premier League football, the latest blockbusters from Sky Movies or awarding-winning drama from a wider range of entertainment channels.
Sky Go continues to see millions of On Demand viewing requests, with just over 3 million requests to watch shows and movies On Demand during early October (7-13th) as The Blacklist continued on Sky Living and preview episodes of crime thriller The Tunnel and Stephen Merchant's Hello Ladies became available. Sky Go Extra has also proved popular with users with 219,000 upgrading to the new service in the last quarter, allowing them to use Sky Go on more devices and download shows and movies to watch wherever they are.
