Cinegy to present Cloudy with a chance of Media in IBC's Technology in Action Theatre

Cinegy is pleased to announce it recent selection into the Technology in Action Theatre at IBC this coming September.

New for 2015, the IBC Content Everywhere Technology in Action Theatre, located in Hall 3 and part of IBC Content Everywhere, showcases the application of technology to the end user.

The IBC Content Everywhere Technology in Action Theatre will consist of a series of free-to-attend industry case studies covering the themes of Cloud, IP, Production, Post Production and Delivery, giving attendees the opportunity to see technology in action as it intersects all aspects of the industry.

On Friday 11th September at 2.00pm Cinegy's Head of Product Management, Lewis Kirkaldie, will take to the stage in the Technology in Action Theatre in Hall 3 and present Cloudy with a Chance of Media .

This technical presentation will be introduced by BBC NI who will highlight the challenges faced with moving to an IP and cloud based facility, with an attempt to demystify what cloud really means for broadcasters and how these technology changes can still provide a safe, effective and beneficial deployment in the traditionally conservative world of broadcast-engineering software.

Kirkaldie will then follow on highlighting what Cinegy is currently doing to help broadcasters overcome these challenges including a sneak peek of what has been happening in the Cinegy R&D labs with the latest cloud tech.

This presentation will provide the audience with a broadcaster's view of the challenges they face pre and post installation and how a cloud and IP based infrastructure has changed the way they broadcast says Kirkaldie.

The final part will examine HTTP and web protocols and the use of Amazon EC2 Air to send MPEG2 TS over HTTP or WebSockets to a standard HTML5 browser with just a few frames of latency.
