The first installment of the Mad Max: Fury Road will soon have its second prequel. In fact, director George Miller revealed that he has two ready-to-be-filmed scripts but puzzled which one to do first. The screenwriter added that doing the post-apocalyptic action film was such a long and arduous process. This film [Fury Road] was green lit three times and fell over three times over a decade, he said.
We went to shoot with Mel Gibson back in 2001, but then 9/11 happened and the American dollar collapsed against the Australian dollar close to 30 per cent, so we lost that amount of budget overnight. The former medical doctor also revealed that they were rained out of Australia thats why they ended up in Africa.
The desert rained for the first time in 15 years and we ended up in South West Africa, Namibia, the Academy Award-winner explained. But in this process, we had dug down deep into the back-story, not only of the characters but of every vehicle. How the steering wheels became religious artifacts and things like that.
According to Cinema Blend, there will evidently be more movies that grossed more than what Mad Max: Fury Road earned. However, there will be no film that can over performed the George Miller instant classic. With almost $400 million in worldwide hit, positive film reviews and fans all-out support, it was definitely a success.

Moreover, Consequence of Sound reported that George wanted to do a low-budget movie first before going back to the world of Mad Max. I want to do a small film without special effects before I do any of that, just to do it quickly.
We shot Fury Road for eight months... thats a lot. George said that working everyday under the heat and dust and doing the incredible stunts are somehow very wearing, he added.
He admitted that they are going to do the planned sequels but at some point in the future. However, Enstars added that Mad Max: Fury Road was recently named as the best film of 2015 by the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI).
