Panasonic AK-UC000 4K Cameras for Studio Production at Hollywood Riviera Studios

Hollywood Rivera Studios (Torrance, CA), specializing in eSports productions, live in-studio shows, mobile production truck rentals and more, has purchased six Panasonic AK-UC3000 4K studio/EFP cameras.

The UC3000 camera systems deliver the convenience of a live multi-camera system with the cinematic look our clients are looking for, while at the same time they prepare us for 4K production, says company owner Rolando Nichols.

The UC3000 delivers either broadcast or cinematic looks in 4K, HD and HDR in a package designed around 2/3 bayonet-mount lenses by employing a large 4K sensor with internal optics to resize the image, thus providing the best of both works between a live broadcast style and digital cinema cameras.

Hollywood Riviera houses a 13,000 sq.ft. studio with a full control room that accommodates the company's roster of production and broadcast clients. The company also owns a 40ft. HD mobile production truck that is available for rent, as well as is the studio.

Our clients-like premier game developer Blizzard Entertainment are increasingly interested in 4K and asking for a filmic look, says Nichols. We were sold on the UC3000's capability to switch effortlessly between a gamut of UHD and HD formats, as well as to support simultaneous 4K and HD acquisition.

Nichols said that he has been working with the UC3000s for several months, and that clients ranging from the video game, sports and music industries to broadcasters have noticed an uptick in quality and praised the cameras' image production.
