Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 15, 2014-Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) announced today that it will be teaming up with MTV Asia, a unit of Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), for the second consecutive year to showcase MTV World Stage Malaysia 2014 in high-definition 5.1 Dolby surround sound. Recorded live for global telecast, the one-night-only outdoor concert is set to take place at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
MTV World Stage is a global series that brings multi-genre talents with global relevance, telecast to an audience in over 550 million households. Recorded live at the most exclusive gigs, world renowned music festivals and unique concert locations from around the world, MTV World Stage is the front row seat for music lovers to experience the biggest artists on the globe without leaving the comfort of their sofas. With a global airing in 154 countries across MTV Networks, the Malaysia show is also MTVs first originally-produced MTV World Stage event globally, which started in 2009.
In offering audiences around the globe an enhanced high definition experience in 5.1 Dolby surround sound and encapsulating the audio from the live concert in its full glory, MTV will use Dolby technology to deliver an immersive entertainment experience to viewers in the comfort of their homes.

As B.o.B, Boys Republic, Thaitanium, and Yuna take the stage, we want viewers to feel like they are a part of the live concert, enveloped in an immersive audio experience, said Mr. Leong-Yan Yoong, Regional Director, South East Asia, Dolby Laboratories. As high-definition broadcasts become more widely available for viewers in Asia, MTV is setting the benchmark for a higher standard of home entertainment.
