Award-Winning American Producers attend South African Film & TV Awards (SAFTAs) --

The SAFTAs were held on Friday & Saturday, 4th & 5th April 2014 at Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg. Since the awards were first launched seven years ago, they have continued to grow and are now attracting international attention.
Last year the guests were swept off their feet with a surprise attendance by Samuel L Jackson who was honoured with presenting the Best Actress in a Feature Film Award, an award received by na evidently ecstatic Lindiwe Ndlovu, for her role in Little One.
This year the red carpet went wild when two American producers, Samad Davis and Terk Stevens graced the SAFTAs space. It has been confirmed that the two will be working on various projects in South Africa and are busy tying up their deals. One of the projects they will be co-producing in South Africa is Asylum Down, which stars Morris Chestnut.
South Africa is one of the key filmmaking countries, and our intention is to tell both the American and South African stories, bringing the two cultures together to grow the film industry. Development of talent is important to us and during production we will ensure that South Africas young talent is nurtured, said award-winning Samad Davis.
The team will commence production as soon as all the elements and logistics have been put together.
