Editor & VFX Artist

Full time position, Managing relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues to facilitate the successful award and delivery of production and post-production projects.

- Always maintaining the highest possible quality of work achievable

- Double-checking all your work for mistakes and errors before submission

- Accurately and precisely following instructions posted directly (verbally), via email and via company scheduling tools

- Ensuring all relevant general and operator work areas are clean and tidy at the end of every day

- Provide technical/creative advice and troubleshooting for producers where possible

- Handling and maintaining incoming and outgoing company data where necessary and according to company procedures

- Providing advice on location and content of legacy jobs for producers and Junior operators for purposes of un-archiving

- Exporting, transcoding and trouble-shooting files for a broad spectrum of distribution channels where necessary

- Creating and laying legal supers

- Editing, Audio lays, rotoscoping, prepping artwork, doing research.

- Editing adaptation and reversioning projects including shot replacement, retagging and cut-downs - Picture and Audio

- Editing original content including commercials, brand videos, product demos, corporate videos, mood reels and pitch films

- Assembling rough cuts from production rushes for commercials and promos

- Preparing and troubleshooting projects for broadcast, including legal and technical standards/requirements

- Manipulating existing graphic elements to regional broadcast standards

- Creating and manipulating motion graphics including for original content and reversioning projects

- Quoting time on jobs successfully

- Clocking, Clamping and Mastering ads for broadcast

Software proficiencies:

You will be working on the Adobe platform using After Effects with relevant plugins for the VFX part of the job and Premiere for the editing and exporting of broadcast masters.

Speed, accuracy and artistry are essential requirements.

As a guide, your working hours are from 9:00am to 18:00pm, including a one hour lunch break or breaks totaling one hour. In practice this will have to be flexible to fit in with the demands of the UK office.

You are entitled to 15 working days as annual holiday leave, to be booked in and approved in advance. This excludes public holidays. However, when work demands, you might have to work on South African public holidays to meet UK work days and will get time in lieu for these days.
