American Tobacco Launches Website for Residential Properties

The American Tobacco Campus includes 53 residential apartments in the Old Bull and Noell Buildings.

American Tobacco recently introduced a new residential website, featuring the apartments available at the downtown Durham destination. And the ATC team is expanding to include staffers especially dedicated to this facet of the historic campus.

We are very excited to launch the new website with is truly the end result of great team work and collaborative creative thinking, said ATC Assistant Property Manager Courtney Coyle. Not only are we launching our new site, but we have also officially transitioned management of the historic Old Bull and Noell buildings in house to our ATC team!

Coyle joined the American Tobacco team in September. She oversees the residential experience at American Tobacco, but the residential component is a shared aspect of the overall campus operations for the entire ATC staff.

Coyle is working on the foundations for ATC's current and future residential operations. Management of Old Bull and Noell transitioned to the in-house ATC team on Monday, November 4th. And the team welcomed Chris Barton as Residential Services Technician in mid-November.

Chris will be our residential specialist for apartment-related maintenance needs, said Coyle. He comes to our team with 23 years of skilled trade (plumbing, HVAC and electrical work) as well as multi-family housing management under his belt. However, Chris' expertise and skills will not be confined to just the residential experience but will span the width and our various operations and special projects at the American Tobacco Campus.

The Old Bull Building (above) houses 40 residential spaces, while the Noell Building (below) encompasses 13 townhome/loft style apartments.

There are currently 53 total residential spaces on the campus 40 flats in the historic Old Bull Building and 13 townhome/loft style apartments featuring rooftop decks in the Noell Building.

All 53 apartments are currently occupied, but the development team is hard at work with plans to expand our residential offerings, said Coyle. Most immediately the team will be finishing the 4th and 5th floors beginning in early 2014 to bring an additional 29 units to the Old Bull Building. Resident retention ratios are high at our community compared to industry averages due to our amazing product and location.

This month American Tobacco is opening its first ice skating rink for the holiday season. The Ice Factory at The Cage will be open from November 16 January 30th.

The American Underground @Main St won "Best Downtown Revitalization Project" at the Downtown Durham, Inc awards on Wednesday, November 13th.
