Lanlan attracted 90,000 fans in Quora (Zhihu) after she had gotten registered for a week. International students Enjoy Their Life In China
Lanlan, originally called Negar Kordi, is a biracial child of Iran and Canada. She was born in 1980s and has been China for 5 years. Her husband comes from Wenzhou, Zhejiang and now she's a senior student of Ningbo University, majored in Business Chinese.
Lanlan is proficient in network buzzwords and is fond of the entertainment programs. She's really good at Chinese and always says a lot of buzzwords while communicating with others. In addition, Lanlan loves China very much and thathelps attract many fans for her. She has travelled over 20 countries, but she can easily list 11 advantages and attractions of China. China becomes a permanent home for her especially after she got married with a Chinese boy. Lanlan told the reporter that she loves China because the help and love from many people in China made her confident and comfortable while living in China.
The reporter said that there're many other international students like Lanlan. These students speak Chinese fluently, eat Chinese food and take part in all kinds of social activities. Some of them even married Chinese.
Bihai is an overseas girl from Ningbo University. She comes from Latvia and is interested in all the novelties. Bihai graduated from the junior high school in 2008 and chose to learn Chinese in University of Latvia. Bihai could read and even understand the classical Chinese after three years' study in the university. The more she learned about the Chinese language, the more she wanted to lean the Chinese culture. She hit upon the idea for coming to China. Then in 2011, she luckily got a chance. The Confucius Institutein University of Latvia held a Chinese Contest and Bihai won the first place. This provided a good chance for Bihai to start her life in Ningbo University.
During these years in Ningbo, Bihai has traveled about China in her spare time. She went to Yunnan, Tibet, Hainan, Heilongjiang and other places in China. Bihai takes every opportunity to actively participate in the local life in Ningbo. For example, she once went to the local people's home to experience the Spring Festival, bought the railway tickets during the Spring Festival Holiday to experience the busy traffic and worked in the Chinese enterprises to experience the corporate culture. In 2012, Bihai began her study for MBA in Ningbo University. In 2015, Bihai got married with a local boy in Ningbo. Her husband is engaged in the foreign trade, so Bihai is planning to establish a foreign trade company after graduation. Based on her detailed market research, Bihai finds that the light industry products of China is quite popular in Latvia while the amber, medicated liquor, milk, rye bread and other specialties of Latvia are also welcomed in China. Bihai is from Latvia and her husband is from China. Both of them are quite familiar with the markets of their own country, so she's confident about her plan
Many people think that foreign students are active. The report found foreign students in Ningbo are especially keen to participate in various activities, not only bringing every country's culture to campuses, but also integrating into local life actively. Taking advantage of their excellent English, foreign students in Ningbo teach English in primary and secondary schools and work as volunteers in foreign affairs activities. Bringing their specialty into full play, foreign students from Medical School of Ningbo University and establish a Medical Volunteer Team to provide health care services for community residents regularly. Residents are delighted to these foreign angles .
To the reporter's surprise, these foreign students fall so deeply in love with the traditional culture in Ningbo. Joshua, a foreign student from The University of Nottingham Ningbo China,likes singing Shaoxing Opera. Last year, at the end of November, he played the young mans role and sang invisible connection in Dream in Zhejiang Chinese talent show.

Ningbo University recruited its first foreign student in 1996. From then on, more and more foreign students went to Ningbo to study, especially after the foundation of the University of Nottingham in 2004, the number of foreign students in Ningbo increased rapidly. During the Twelfth Five-year Plan period, the number of foreign students enrolled by colleges and universities tripled in Ningbo. Up to 2015, Ningbo has totally accepted 4016 foreign students coming from over 110 countries and regions, including 1896 foreign students pursuing degrees, accounting for 50 percent of the total number, and hit NO.1 in the growth of foreign students in Zhejiang.
