VRT decided to employ the pair of encoders and decoders Monarch Edge of Matrox para varias de estas coberturas. El test inicial consisti en la emisi n de un concierto desde Ancienne Belgique, una sala de m sica contempor nea situada en el centro hist rico de Bruselas.
Las se ales de dos c maras SDI se introdujeron en el dispositivo de codificaci n Monarch Edge 4:2:2 de 10 bits. Paralelamente, se envi una mezcla est reo desde la mesa de sonido utilizando la entrada de audio balanceada del codificador. La soluci n transport estas fuentes utilizando el protocolo de streaming SRT a 1080i y 20 Mbps a trav s de la Internet p blica. Las im genes llegaron a la sala de control de producci n de VRT, tambi n situada en Bruselas; siendo recibidas por el dispositivo de descodificaci n Monarch. Las se ales decodificadas se enviaron como SDI y con audio incrustado al entorno de producci n en directo, donde los productores realizaron cortes entre las dos c maras y a adieron gr ficos.
New streaming solutions Desde el entorno de producci n en directo, se introdujeron dos se ales de v deo SDI en un segundo codificador Monarch Edge. Una de estas se ales fue una se al de programa producida que sirvi como canal de retorno, mientras que la otra era un multivisor compuesto de se ales de c mara A y B sin procesar.
El codificador Monarch EDGE transport estas se ales a trav s de la Internet p blica hasta Ancienne Belgique, de nuevo a 1080i y 20 Mbps. De vuelta en Ancienne Belgique, otro Edge decodific las dos se ales de retorno, las cuales se pod an ver desde varios monitores situados en la sala.
