BVE visitors looking forward to embracing the Digital Production Partnerships new broadcast delivery standards in 2014 will be warmly welcomed on UK distributor Aspen Medias stand K34 where tools to ensure programmes meet all the DPPs requirements will be demonstrated by Jnger Audio and RTW. Both Jnger Audio and RTW have played a significant part in the smooth transition to the new loudness regimes where they have been implemented in Europe and the USA.
Jnger Audios Anthony Wilkins will introduce the T*AP Edition, an advanced audio processor that intelligently solves the problem of loudness changes without adding any undesirable audio artefacts. The TAP offers optional Dolby metadata control plus downmixing and upmixing. The Jnger Audio D*AP8 MAP Edition combines a loudness measurement system with an audio monitoring controller and checks audio for EBU R128 compliance while generating alerts if pre-set loudness thresholds are exceeded. A removable front panel is available for ease of remote control of up to 4 devices.
RTW specialises in EBU R128 compliant audio meters including the modular TouchMonitor series, TM9, TM7, TMR7 and the compact TM3 and TM3-3G. In addition to the units themselves, Arjen Hofland from RTW will show the new Loudness Quality Logger, a true peak data analysis and reporting tool that will prove invaluable should it be necessary to confirm a programme is within the permitted loudness parameters. All the TouchMonitors offer loudness metering and moving coil emulation with an integral loudness indicator.
Another highlight on stand K34 is the new Delec Oratis Compact intercom system demonstrated by Jrgen Malleck. Launched at IBC in September and designed for small-scale projects in theatre and broadcast, it combines the latest intercom technology with reliability, high density and cost efficiency. Oratis Compact features a fully summing, non-blocking, audio matrix and delivers broadcast quality audio with 48kHz sample rate and 24 bit word length. All the subscriber units in the large-scale Oratis system are supported and a Dante network interface is available if required.
DirectOut Technologies range of MADI tools will be on display and will include the latest ANDIAMO series of Analogue, MADI, AES and mic converters. Attested by those that have used the units, the excellent sound quality is thanks to the design by renowned Sound Engineer Stephan Flock. In addition, the M.1k2 1024x1024 channel MADI router will be available together with the EXBOX series of get me out of jail compact converters and problem solvers.
Featuring prominently on stand K34 is the Stagetec ON AIR 24 compact console. ON AIR 24 is a modular, flexible and scalable system with control surfaces laid out to the broadcasters specification. It offers trouble-free configuration for self-ops, small studios and workshops, is easy to operate and can be controlled by scheduling and automation systems. Supported by the Stagetec NEXUS router, an extensive choice of I/O is available. The fader panels incorporate configurable channels that are expandable to a maximum of 24 faders in banks of 4.
